RESERVATION PROTOCOL

The best way to make a reservation is to call 519-832-9121 any time after 1:30PM on Wednesdays to Saturdays (and you can call after 8:30AM on Sundays).  If you wish to pre-order your food when you make your reservation, go for it!  Walk-ins will only be accepted if it's a slow night for take-out, (take-out is about 80% of our business, thus reservations are strongly recommended!) :)

 TAKE-OUT PROTOCOL

   For our dinner service, call 519-832-9121 any time after 1:30 Wednesdays to Saturdays to place your take-out order in advance (after 8:30 on Sundays for breakfast). The hours for pick-up are in 5 minute increments between 4:00-7:45 for dinner (and 9:00-12:45 on Sunday).  The regular menu is all available, plus daily features listed below.

A note on the downtown Port Elgin construction: BOTH Catherine St. (beside us) and Goderich St. (in front of us) are indeed OPEN! You can access our parking lot from both streets :)

Please note: Our spring holidays are coming up! Our last day open is this Saturday April 19th, and we re-open on Wednesday May 7th. Thanks for understanding (and for your loyalty!)- this has been our busiest winter yet, and we need a little breather before summer :)

Soups:

1 of 2: Asian Hot and Sour Vegetable! $8

This is always a hit, so we bring it back often.  Broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, nap cabbage, green onions and tofu in this hot, sour and sweet broth made with sambal, ginger, garlic, brown sugar, rice vinegar, etc.  With toasted sesame seeds on top! It isn't crazy hot!

(Vegan.  Dairy free.  Contains sesame and gluten [in the form of soy sauce]).

2 of 2: Indian Spiced Split Pea $8

Split peas, onions, garlic, ginger, carrots, celery, a few tomatoes, fresh curry leaves, green chilies, turmeric, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, coriander, etc., in this delicious soup! If you are a fan of split peas, look no further! It's not crazy hot, just a touch!

(Vegan. Gluten and dairy free).

Appetizers:

1 of 2: Lentil Fritters with Hummus! $13

These are made with love!  Pulsed red lentils, onions, garlic, parsley & cilantro, curry powder, cumin, coriander, etc.  They are fried up like falafels - you get five in an order served with homemade hummus (chick peas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin).  Good for sharing between 2!  Likewise, vegetarians can order this with a soup (and even homemade naan) and it will be a complete meal!

(Vegan.  Gluten and dairy free. Contains sesame).

2 of 2: German Pork and Vegetable Pasty! $14

This is definitely big enough for 2 to share (it’s the same size as our empanadas if you have ever had those!) It was a big hit last week so we decided to make more :)  A flaky, buttery pie crust is baked up stuffed with cooked carrots, green cabbage, rutabaga, and chopped pork that was braised with white wine, paprika, mustard, caraway, cumin, black pepper, cayenne, onions, garlic, celery, carrots, etc.  There is a bit of homemade gravy added to make it extra flavourful!  It’s amazing (and big)!!  It’s also our first time making it :)

We have partnered with Rabbit Dash/Dizzy Bird here in town to serve you a cup of their delicious "Saffron Blend" - a medium-dark roast with nutty, syrupy hazelnut notes, and a bright aftertaste!

Main:

Mediterranean Plate! $25

This is outstanding! You get a generous portion of rice and ground beef cooked with butter, onions, garlic, chick peas and a spice blend made with many aromatic spices toasted in-house (cumin and coriander seeds, cinnamon sticks, bay leaves, cardamom, cloves, allspice and nutmeg). It is served with homemade hummus (chick peas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic) and some homemade naan bread. It is topped with crumbled feta cheese, crushed pistachios and house-pickled cucumbers and red onions! Amazing with lovely colours, flavours and textures!

(Contains dairy and sesame. Gluten free without the bread - $24).

Desserts:

1 of 2: Caribbean Banana Bread Pudding! $10

This is always very popular!  Best served warm, this bread pudding is made with homemade banana bread, cashews, lime zest, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, etc., and served with homemade crème Anglaise to pour on top.  Big enough for 2!

A simple, tasty cake! Homemade sponge cake layered with homemade vanilla custard and topped with chocolate ganache! Yum!
